Potential help for polar bears

After legal pressure from environmental groups, the United States Government may soon list the polar bear as "threatened", which would force the Bush administration to acknowledge that global warming just might be caused by man-made activity, and prevent harm from being done to the bears and their habitat.

Studies have shown that with the decrease in Arctic ice, adult bears are growing thinner and there is a lower survival rate among cubs. What action would be taken to protect the bears remains to be seen, but this official recognition is a step in the right direction.

The bears are all going to disappear. Not in 50 years time as the scientists presume - but sooner. What is anybody doing about it? Monitoring the situation.....
We humans, by causing global warming and climate change have interfered in their lives and therefore, their ability to cope. They do not have enought time to adapt - it is happing too quickly. We therefore HAVE to NOW interfere to make sure they survive. It is our fault, therefore it is up to us to help. The bears should be fed - not obviously, not zoo-like and not like pets - but food should be inconspiciously placed without them seeing the humans doing it in areas where they will find it. Canada (unfortunately) kills thousands of seals every year - get the meat from them. Interfering? Yes - but that's what we've done up to now - so what is the difference??
