Kelowna to Regina

No show yesterday, so we took our time getting ready. Todd and Marcus unpacked and repacked the trailer for strategic layout and optimum weight placement while I reorganized the merch.

We stopped once for ice cream before heading into the mountains, where Todd worked on his exercise regimen with Marcus’s encouragement:

I love the mountains. I could look at them all day (and I did). We saw mountain goats, two bears, and more elk than you could shake a stick at.

In the Rockies

We decided to stay in Calgary for the night, but had to get up pretty early for the drive to Regina. I don’t do early well, especially when the time change meant that “early” felt like 5:00 am. I slept lots in the car.

We got into Regina with time to spare, where Todd thoughtfully parked us in a brick wall to wake us up. Checked out the Gaslight, where we’ll be playing, and were pleased to see it has a rather large stage that’ll be easy to set up on. We are now sitting in a funky little cafe with free wi-fi and tasty hummus & pitas, and will go load in our gear in about half an hour.

We did get a bit of bad news today, which is that our Kitchener show on May 25 has been cancelled because the venue has decided to start renovating next week. We’re seeing what we can do to move it, and we’ll let you know if we can find a new venue.

We’re probably going to cautiously introduce a new song tonight. Here’s a taste of us rehearsing it:
