ARCTIC at the Railway Club, Saturday, March 13
Saturday, March 13 at the Railway Club - ARCTIC, Nixie (all the way from Kelowna!) and Waltz Darling! Doors at 9, show at 10, $10. Join the Facebook event page here!
ARCTIC: Haunting and moody with a hypnotic groove, ARCTIC conjures up chilly northern landscapes and intensely rich, layered space rock with their unique blend of electronic & acoustic sound that’s been called “Metric meets Neil Young” and “ethereal art-rock akin to Radiohead or Fleet Foxes". http://www.projectarctic.com.
NIXIE: Nixie is a BC based all female band consisting of drums, synthesizers, piano, vocals, and bass guitar. They have already made waves in their hometown, Kelowna, and around Western Canada. The new wave/electro/dance grooves coming out of these four young ladies is sure to get you off your feet and leave you in a tranced awe. Their genre spans from dance to alternative to hip hop, into trance and pop. http://www.myspace.com/nixiemix
WALTZ DARLING have entertained local audiences for years with their crazy musical journeys. Sustained by their passion for all styles of music, their Eastern European roots have always been woven into their songs. Atila is Hungarian while his cousin Robert hails from just across the Serbian border. Their disagreements are the stuff of legend and high comedy. Rich’s background is Polish and German, while Michael’s grandparents were Russian Jews who ran from pitchfork-wielding neighbors. http://www.myspace.com/waltzdarling
